In Memoriam

Charles A. Oriez

October 3, 1952 - September 7, 2005

A memorial fund has been established to benefit the South Platte Group of the Sierra Club in Charlie's name. Tax-deductible checks, made payable to the Sierra Club Foundation, may be mailed to Mike Mueller, Treasurer, 6700 South Glencoe Street #208, Centennial, CO 80122.

Following is one of Charlie's favorite quotes, one that he lived by:

"...Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in one pretty and well-preserved piece, but to slide across the finish line broadside, thoroughly used up, worn out, leaking oil, and shouting GERONIMO!!!" -- Bill McKenna, date unknown.

...and so he did.

In addition to his work for the Sierra Club, Charlie was an active member of the Association of Information Technology Professionals. To read a remembrance of Charlie which appears on that organization's web site, click here.
